Saloni belongs to New Delhi and has graduated as a designer from NIFT Mumbai after completing her Bachelor’s in Fashion Technology and Product Development. Post her under-graduation, she interned with a B2B SaaS company and later joined Springworks in May 2022 as a Junior Product Designer.
Let’s take a peek into the life of a Junior Product Designer!
What do you do as a Junior Product Designer at
Springworks?
I am a Junior Product Designer with EngageWith. My regular responsibilities include working with the product team to understand and discover potential areas for improvement, researching potential design solutions for product UX issues, developing design iterations for them, and always looking for new ways to improve our product and make our consumers happier.
What is your favorite part about Springworks?
I adore everyone here; they’ve all shown such a strong enthusiasm for what they do and the result, which is motivating and drives me to strive and be better.
How has your learning curve improved as a part of Springworks?
I have truly understood the meaning of the 1% better everyday theory, which says if you can get 1 percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done. A little bit of improvement, extra work, and time spent upskilling will go a long way. Even if we can’t see it right now, the steady, sluggish expansion is viable.
Walk us through a day in the life of Saloni!
I get up at 6:30 in the morning and swim before doing some light stretching. I get ready and then sit down with my family for breakfast and tea or coffee. Around 9:00 AM is when I sit down to begin working, check Slack for messages, write a list of the things I need to do that day, and get ready for a standup call. I also write down my dependence on other people and ping them to arrange a call. Every day at noon, we have a scrum call where we talk about our plans for the day, get feedback on the items we’ve been working on, and talk about problems and ideas. I end my work day around 6:30, after that, I dedicate some time to my hobbies- painting and calligraphy, or on some days I cook something new for dinner. I try to sleep between 11:00-11:30 pm.
Which is your favorite product amongst our two apps, Trivia & EngageWith?
I adore EngageWith for more reasons than the fact that I am a designer for it. Additionally, consider how it fosters a culture of team appreciation. A simple “thank you” just won’t cut it for me when it comes to expressing gratitude. The fact that there are so many redemption possibilities accessible across all categories, including e-commerce, food, lifestyle goods, etc., is another thing I love.
What made you join Springworks?
I love how strong this organization believes in employee wellbeing. The company’s HR policies are ever-evolving to make Springworks an amazing place to work at!
What is the one thing that you would recommend to people to join here?
Join Springworks if you want to work in an organization where you can learn not just from the work you do but also from the people around you!
What are your ways to connect with people in the company?
We try to connect every few days to play games, chit-chat and talk about our personal lives. This makes us know each other as people, not just as employees. We are also planning a workcation to physically meet, spend some time, and bond with each other. Because when you have fun together, you connect on a deeper level!
Sneak-peek into your life outside Springworks!
I discovered that I was fascinated with painting, drawing, and colors while I was growing up. A few years later, I discovered that I was equally drawn to music, poetry, and books. I value all forms of artistic expression and find it fascinating that everyone is born with the desire to create. Painting pleases my interest. I frequently paint natural subjects since I have a strong appreciation for them.
