Chaitra was born and brought up in Bangalore, and has always been amazed by the beautiful city. She later moved on to complete her degree from Vasavi College in Commerce. She then worked for Target Corporations India from 2013-16. Post 2016, she moved to the United States and stayed there for the next 2 years. After returning to India in 2018, she worked for a small firm called Medizone. Then Covid hit the country and she decided to look for remote opportunities that would help her have a professional career and also focus on her personal life. That’s where Springworks entered her life, she decided to join as an intern as she wanted to learn from the basics. She has been working as an Operations intern for the past 6 months now and is loving every bit of it.
Let’s take a peek into the life of an Operations Intern!
What do you do as an Operations Intern at Springworks?
I was working for the Address Department when I first joined, making calls to candidates and verifying their addresses. It has been a month and half since I moved to the customer success team and I am getting to learn so much every other day. I onboard clients to our team and helping them out with any of their queries is one of my tasks. This is what I love here, people identify your potential and help you grow in what you are good at. I am always thankful for all the opportunities I have been given here at Springworks.
What is your favorite part about Springworks?
The way we are treated here. Interns are also given the same amount of responsibility as FTEs. This just helps us to learn better. We are actively encouraged to to appreciate our co-workers even for the smallest of the reasons. These appreciations have had a huge impact on me and it helps me perform better and boost up my morale and stay positive. Personally, I think my favourite aspect is the open communication we have between all employees and management.
How has your learning curve improved as a part of Springworks?
I was a really shy person to begin with. As talking to candidates or clients is my everyday task, it has not only improved my talking skills but I have also become more bold and confident.
Walk us through a day in the life of Chaitra!
My daily routine is a very hectic one. I wake up by 6.30-7:00 am and my day starts with my little one. I play a lot with her till 9:48 and I login at 9:50 on the dot every other day. We have our daily ops stand up at 9:50, which is super fun to be a part of. A lovely way to start any day is to be a part of ops stand ups. We have various fun questions and everyone takes turns to answer them and I love hearing everyone’s answers. Post stand up, we start off with our work. I will have a few meetings scheduled with clients. I attend them and end my day by 7. I make sure to stop working at 7:30 everyday and complete any pending work once my little one is asleep. Trying to balance work and life is so much easier at Springworks.
Which is your favourite product amongst our two apps, Trivia & EngageWith?
Trivia of course!. Even though I hardly get the time to play everyday. I love the games that we all get to play. Especially Gif-Charades. For once, I want to be the fastest person to answer these questions!!
What are the challenges that you face in your day to day work schedule?
The biggest challenge that I face is that I tend to get distracted easily. I will be working on a task and if I get a message on slack, I won’t be able to stop myself from looking at it! I am trying to get into the habit of being able to focus more and get less distracted.
Sneak-peek into your life outside Springworks!
Whenever I get some time, I love working on some art stuff. I enjoy Warli painting and crocheting. I loved reading books. I want to continue that habit of reading again but I do need motivation for picking it up again. Along with this, I love traveling. I have Greece on my mind and I can’t wait for that to happen soon!!
