Rahul belongs to Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Due to his father’s army background, he has moved around a lot of cities in the country. He has pursued his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Acharya Institute Of Technology, Bangalore. After his graduation, he started working with BMW Motors as a Sales & Marketing Executive. Later he decided to also get a taste of B2B sales and that’s where Springworks came into the picture. Rahul joined Springworks in March 2022, as a Sales Development Intern.
Let’s take a peek into the life of a Sales Development Intern!
What do you do as a SDR Intern at Springworks?
My tasks mainly circle reaching out to potential clients over various platforms like LinkedIn. The basic agenda of the job profile is to do efficient outreaches and set up as many client demos with the SDRs. I generally work on bridging the gap between potential clients & their organizational effectiveness via pitching our products for their perusal.
What attracted you towards the Sales domain?
I am a motor enthusiast, who has always been interested in cars and bikes. I took up Mechanical engineering specializing in automobiles for the same reason of being curious about them. Later on, I realized that although the tech part was interesting enough, I was better at pitching it! After completing my graduation, I got offered positions at BMW motors & Harley Davidson, out of which I decided to go ahead with my offer at BMW. Later I also wanted to explore the domain of B2B sales as well and hence I am here. As I was venturing out into a new domain, therefore I decided to start my journey as an intern to get my grips on the basics.
What is your favorite part of being an SDR?
My favorite part of being an SDR intern would be scrolling through LinkedIn! As an SDR intern, my main job is to work on marketing campaigns and cold email campaigns for various industries. This allows me to learn and grow my knowledge on an everyday basis. As LinkedIn is the primary tool that we use to create our client base, the more time I spend on it the better I understand it.
Walk us through a day in the life of Rahul!
- I wake up around 6:30 am every morning and head out for a quick workout.
- I start my work at 9:30 am and write down 5 tasks on my whiteboard which helps me in completing them before EOD.
- After that, I prepare myself for the morning huddle at 10:00 am with our Sales team.
- Later in the day, I focus on completing tasks that I have set for myself and pick up extra if I have the bandwidth.
- My key tasks are lead generation for marketing campaigns and LinkedIn client outreach, designing email templates, etc.
- I generally wrap up my work around 7:30 pm.
What motivates you in life?
The only motivation that helps me go is that I try to become a better version of myself every single day. I am always trying to improve whatever I am doing and that tends to help me improve my learning curve as well.
How has your journey with Springworks been till now?
When I compare Springworks to my previous organizations, the autonomy of being able to work on what I like and the opportunity to bring up new ideas regarding anything is something that I have been enjoying here. A specific question that arises here is why take up an internship after being a full-time employee for a year? I would just say learning! I wanted to learn B2B sales, hence decided to start from the basics, that’s where Springworks has helped me the most. It allowed me to learn and grow in a field that I am interested in along with contributing to my learning and development as an individual as well.
Sneak-peek into your life outside Springworks!
I used to do Go-karting professionally for the last seven years! I don’t do it professionally any more but I make sure that once a week I am heading out for a Go-karting event. Apart from this I love to read books and have lately picked up cooking as well!
