Shreya belongs to Silvassa which is located in the union territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. She has completed my Bachelor’s in Design from NIFT Mumbai specializing in Communication Design. Shreya has been a part of Springworks since January 2021 as a Designer and loves every bit of it!
Let’s take a peek into the life of a Graphic Designer!
What do you do as a Graphic Designer at Springworks?
As a graphic designer at Springworks, I work on websites, social media creatives, advertisements, and other projects that require design input. I frequently assist with the sales and product marketing teams to create collateral that helps prospective clients better understand our products. Apart from that, I assist with branding, including logos and design language for both old and new products (The Shape of Work Community, VirtualCoffee,etc)
What is your favorite part about Springworks?
People—in the end, it is they who contribute to the upholding of our company’s cultural values. Everyone is always willing to lend a hand and is friendly. I’ve never been afraid to talk to anyone, whether it’s my boss, the HR staff, or a completely new team member, since day one. It’s also a significant bonus because everyone takes ownership of their tasks. I can’t leave out the fantastic work-life balance and employee-friendly policies.
How has your learning curve improved as a part of Springworks?
Because employees are given ownership, I believe I have gained confidence as a designer and am better at trusting my decisions at work. Collaborating with numerous individuals entails listening to feedback, evaluating it, and recognising that the final decision is yours to make. This can be overwhelming at times, but I’ve gotten better at it over time.
Knowing when to halt designing is a difficult task for me, and one that I’m continuously working on. There’s always room for improvement. But realizing that ‘done’ is better than ‘perfect’ has helped me manage my time and look at the work at hand objectively.
Walk us through a day in the life of Shreya!
- I start my day by making a note of any messages or reminders I’ve set up for myself.
- The majority of the time, there are ad hoc duties or something fresh to take on. Any new duties, as well as calls with team members, are usually left for the second portion of the day.
- I spent the first half of the day working on a current project (website graphics, decks, advertising, and creatives, among other things).
- There are instances when items need to be double-checked, such as checking something that has gone online or providing feedback to a team member.
- I like to end my day by crossing everything off my to-do list.
Which is your favourite product amongst our two apps, Trivia & EngageWith?
I like both!! Trivia for its quizzes (especially The Office or Harry Potter themed ones) and EngageWith because it makes appreciation so easy.
What are the challenges that you face in your day to day work schedule?
Knowing when to halt designing is essential when working under time constraints (as I mentioned earlier). Some thoughts come easily, while others don’t, and nothing I do can help me with that; it’s a struggle. This is inconvenient when something is due quickly. Picking numerous tasks, on the other hand, allows me to switch between them.
Sneak-peek into your life outside Springworks!
I enjoy taking nature walks and am fortunate enough to live in such a beautiful environment. I also adore illustration and spend a lot of time with my sketchbook. It aids in the growth of my creative cells and helps me concentrate and contributes to my skill development . I’m a big lover of animated films and enjoy discovering new ones when I see them—I’m currently on a Ghibli run!
