Thanveer Ahamed joined Springworks in June, 2020 as an Operations Specialist for our product- SpringVerify. He comes with more than ten years of industry experience working in a couple of background verification companies.

At Springworks, his work mainly involves handling the entire digital and physical verification process for our clients. This includes contacting the client to obtain missing or incorrect information and resolving any inconsistencies with requests from our clients. 

That means, he also maintains a pre-initiation calling sheet for the process and manages client relationships through all phases of the BGV process, oversees operations & support to ensure client satisfaction.

How does SpringVerify work?

SpringVerify is a huge leap forward from the way things have been in the BGV (Background Verification) industry.

The traditional verification services used by companies are time-consuming, paper-heavy, and manual.

We at SpringVerify have changed all of this and built the fastest, easiest to use, and most efficient background verification solution available in the market.

We use technology and automation to reduce the complexity of every step in the verification process.

Checks like ID verifications and court record verification happen seamlessly within minutes using the latest OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technologies.

The remaining verification processes like address checks, education history checks, and employment history checks are all handled on priority by a dedicated SpringVerify agent.

Have you come across any frauds related to background screening?

Frauds are usually from candidates who submit fake credentials. However, there was a time when I faced the issue of forged documents submitted by a candidate. He had never passed the exams. But managed to forge documents of his friend’s.

After further investigation, University officials confirmed that the documents were fake.

How serious do you think is the situation of background screening in India today?

Background screening in India is becoming an extremely serious process. Cases of employee fraud and misrepresentation of resume or employment data have been plaguing the recruitment process for years.

In the past, it was largely companies with offshore offices, IT or ITeS and private sector banking and financial companies that largely believed in having a reliable employee due diligence mechanism which included verification of candidate details.

However, the formal sector and the remaining informal and agricultural sector, which is largely unregulated, situation there require the urgent need for a proper background screening process by companies in India. 

The Indian background screening industry has grown rapidly over the last few years. Things are moving in the right direction with the formal sector proactively seeking out help from 3rd party verification agencies. Nowadays the informal services sector has opened itself to the verification process as well with the onset of the “gig economy” but it is still a long way to go.

What do you like the most about your job?

I enjoy being able to handle multiple responsibilities in my job and to learn the process inside and out.

Springworks is a place where I got the opportunity to learn a lot of tools that made my work more efficient and easy to get done.

What are the challenges that you face in your job? How do you go about solving them?

There is one client for which we find it difficult to verify candidates on time. The new hires for this client are healthcare professionals who are generally caught up in their work(which is totally understandable).

Hence, we have to take frequent follow-ups in order to get the process done faster.

  • Wake up at 7 am
  • Have a nice cup of tea
  • Have Breakfast 
  • Team meeting at 9.50 am
  • Check my to-dos and Backlogs from the day before
  • Work until 2 pm
  • Have lunch 
  • Watch Youtube videos/ web series during breaks
  • Work till 8 pm
  • Dinner
  • Spend some time with family
  • Head to sleep.
