Life at Springworks: A day in the life of a Software Developer

Abhijeet was born and raised in Dhariyawad, a small village near Udaipur, Rajasthan. He eventually relocated to Punjab to complete his Bachelor of technology in Computer Science at Lovely Professional University.

He has been a Software Developer for over two years and loves every minute of it!

Let’s have a look at a day in the life of a Software Developer!

What do you do at Springworks as a Software Developer?

My responsibility as a software developer is to create logic and write code to support every feature or business requirement that arises during the project’s development.

Why did you decide to become a programmer?

Technology and computers have always piqued my curiosity since I was a child. And because I didn’t get to play around with it much, my interest grew day by day. Later, I discovered that movie production also requires the efforts of developers and hackers, which piqued my interest in this profession.

How has your learning curve changed since joining Springworks?

I would say that my learning curve has been phenomenal, from being an intern working on a live project that was being utilized by many large organizations to now building features that are now adored by so many people! This has greatly aided me in building a solid understanding of both client-facing and server-side components!

Take us through a typical day in the life of Abhijeet!

  • My day begins at about 9 a.m.
  • I go over all of the jobs that have been allocated to me and prioritize them based on the timetable and criteria.
  • Following that, I check my calendar for any meetings or phone calls for the day so that I can determine how many chores I can complete before the end of the day.
  • The actual coding begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until my lunch break at 2 p.m.
  • I’ll return to work at 3 p.m. and aim to finish everything for the day by 7:30 p.m. If something remains and must be completed as soon as possible, I will work until 9 p.m.

Which of our two apps, Trivia and EngageWith, is your favorite?

Favourite product is Trivia because I like how it brings people together and allows them to have fun, especially at a time when people are connected online and work life can become tedious and uninteresting. In addition, I had a significant role in the development of this product hence I always tend to feel a greater affinity towards it.

What are the few challenges you confront at work?

The most common problem is keeping the product bug-free so that consumers can have a pleasant experience. There are also a lot of queries from the product team and customer support team that we have to check up and find the best potential solution for.

A look at your life outside of Springworks!

When I’m not working, you may find me on the internet, listening to music, or going for a long walk.
