Meet Simran, she is based out of Delhi and joined Springworks in May 2022. She completed her Bachelor’s from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University and went on to pursue her Master’s in Economics from O.P Jindal Global University. In order to unleash her true interest and talent, she did internships across various fields. She found product development to be intriguing and started to build her career in this domain.

What made you join Springworks and how was the hiring process?
I wanted to challenge myself and work on a product that is fun. I read about Springworks and reviews on the company. Instantly, I knew if I grab the opportunity to work here, I would be able to learn a lot. As soon as I applied I started to network and connect with the employees on LinkedIn. Everyone was really helpful and made me understand the hiring process and the preparation required for the interviews. I did my research and I was able to do well in my interview. The Hiring team was really efficient and quick. They constantly followed up and walked me through the entire process.
My final interview with my manager, Sandeep and was the best interview I had. He asked me about my personal goals and what domains I was interested to work in. He integrated my interests to provide me with a holistic opportunity at Springworks. Thereafter, I was informed about my job role, and to my surprise, it was everything I was looking for. I am really happy to be a part of Springworks and learn from some of the best minds in the industry.
What do you do as a Product Intern at Springworks?
My work as a Product intern is extremely dynamic. I work on building our product Trivia. I analyze our user data to improve our product metrics, and ideate and scope out new features and games for Trivia. Furthermore, I collaborate with the Customer Success Team to ensure the quality of Trivia is improved and perfected along the way. In the past six months, I’ve learnt numerous important skills and tools that are required to become a good PM which is an opportunity I would not get otherwise.
Walk us through a day in the life of Simran
After a lot of struggle, I finally started to follow a routine. It all fell in place due to the flexible work timings and the support from my team. I log in for work around 10:00 am and I work till 5:30 pm. Then, I take a break and head to the gym. Once I am done with my workout I head home and cook dinner. I dine with my family and watch one or two episodes on OTT. Later in the day, I complete my pending tasks in the next 1-2 hours. I log off work around 10 to 10:30 pm. Before I sleep I either read something or end up rewatching a show I love (currently I’m on “Modern Family” again).
What is your favourite product among EngageWith and Trivia?
One may think I am biased but my personal favourite is Trivia xD. It’s fun and engaging. It gives me a break from my work and helps me to refresh and restart. On the other hand, EngageWith is a unique app that focuses on motivating and encouraging others. It helps you to push yourself and deliver better results. I really look forward to and get excited with any EngageWith notification.
As an Intern, what are your learnings and challenges?
My learning has been great. From the beginning, my team has always supported me anytime I faced blockers in my tasks. Every day I learn something new, as I do things that I have not done earlier. But, irrespective of having flexible work hours, remote work does take a toll on me. Sometimes, it’s monotonous and I need to keep balancing my work and personal time. Initially, async communication and tasks were a challenge. As I had to understand the ethics and style of communication and how different tools work, but with time, things got easier.
Sneak -Peak into your life outside Springworks
I am a baker and I really love cooking. Last year, after a lot of encouragement I started my own home kitchen. Due to time constraints and work, I don’t take regular orders but I accept orders over the weekends. Experimenting with food and different cuisines is something I love. I binge-watch series and I also dance. I catch up with my friends after my gym and work.
